Army Aircorp Staff Sergeant Robert J. Mullaney, 93, of Scranton, a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, was called to be by God’s side Tuesday. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Felix and Mary Graff Mullaney. Affectionately known as Big Bob, Bully Bob, and Ben he was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and uncle; as well as a beloved man.
He has now been reunited with the love of his life, Joyce, “JEM”, and their son Robert Micheal. He is enjoying a shot of Irish whiskey with his siblings, family, friends, and brothers in arms, who have preceded him.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Leshay and husband Joe, Donna Benfatti and husband Victor, Pattie Walter and husband Fred, and Sarah horn-Andrews, and husband Bill; his grandchildren Dawn Marie Benfattie, Anthony Benfatti and wife Nicole, and RJ Mullaney; his great-grandson Damian Benfattie and a very special sister in law, Edith “Toots” Mullaney.
Cremation has been entrusted to Corey Brian Strauch Services, LLC, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505 and will take place at the Strauch Cremation Center and Crematory, Gouldsboro. No services will be scheduled per Roberts wishes.
