Philomena M. Godowski, 89, of Dunmore, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at home. She is the widow of the late Norman Godowski who died Jan. 21, 1983.
Born in Scranton she was the daughter of the late John and Caroline Swetz Myernick. Upon retirement Phil worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone.
She was a member of the St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Church, Dunmore.
Phil so enjoyed her adoring grandchildren and all her beloved nieces and nephews with whom she enjoyed so many holidays with.
Surviving are two daughters Carol Godowski, Dunmore, Janet Sweeney, Dunmore; two sisters Terry Lichak, Claire Brown; grandchildren Haley Sweeney and Evan Sweeney;which were the light of her life, and great granddaughter, Madison Watson.
She was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Williams and three brothers in law, Steve,Don and Art.
The family would especially like to send heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful, loving care givers of Traditional Home health and Hospice.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday September 8, 2018 at 9:30am in the St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St, Dunmore, PA 18512. Burial of the urn will immediately follow the mass in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Scranton.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 8:30-9:15 am in the church.
