Memorial Video Tribute
Lois F. Pfurr, 87, a life long resident of South Scranton, died Thursday at the home of her daughters. She is the widow of the late Eugene P. Pfurr. The couple had been married 59 years.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Nelson A. and Florence Neu Moore, she was a 1945 graduate of Scranton Central High School. Prior to marriage she worked in the mail room at International Correspondence School. She was a member of the former Trinity United Church of Christ and was very active with Girl Scout Troop 47, which meet at the church, as an assistant leader and leader. She was an over 30 year volunteer with Meals on Wheels of NEPA and was one of the original runners. Lois loved gardening, beading and jigsaw puzzles. She was very proud of her salt and pepper shaker collection which she at age 18 and has amounted over 1100.
Surviving are two daughters Wendy Pfurr and Debbie Pfurr of Clarks Summit and her god child Linda Bonney.
The family would like to thank Rosie and Colleen from HHCP; Dorie, Phyllis and Jean of At Home Quality Care for their care and compassion. And a special thank you to her daily care giver Sharon.
The funeral will be Monday at 10:00am in Corey Brian Strauch Services, funeral home location, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505, with Rev. Jack Munley, chaplain with HHCP, to officiate. Interment to follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
A viewing will be held Sunday from 1:00- 3:00pm in the funeral home.
