June Thomas, a lifelong resident of Scranton and Moscow, died Tuesday November 10th, 2015 at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of the late Harrison N. Thomas, who died June 7th, 1993.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Fribole MacKnight. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, and was employed by The Finch Manufacturing Co., both in Scranton and West Pittston, as office manager for 48 years until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ and an active member of its Women’s Circle, having served a term as President of the Circle. She was a clerical volunteer at the former Mercy Hospice Inpatient Unit in the former Mercy Hospital for several years.
She and her husband were avid travelers and had visited many countries all over the world; she continued traveling, thereafter, with some of her numerous friends.
The funeral will be Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:00am in the funeral home location of Corey Brian Strauch Services, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505 with services by the Rev. James Quinn, pastor of Bennett Presbyterian Church. Interment will be private in Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton.
Friends may call Saturday from 10:00pm until the time of service in the funeral home.
