Jane Beynon, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Monday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Thomas and Gwen Jenkins Beynon, she was a graduate of West Scranton High School. For many years until her retirement, she worked at International Salt Co. Earlier in her career, she worked with the Scranton Red Cross. Jane was a very active member of the Jackson Street Baptist Church, Scranton and the church’s Young and Heart Group, the LOA Sunday School Class and the weekly prayer meetings. She also volunteered for Youth for Christ and was a member of the “Salties,” a group of retired International Salt workers.
Surviving are a sister Louise James, Plymouth, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Gail Beynon, Chinchilla; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, William, David and Edward Beynon.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Jackson Street Baptist Church, 1206 Jackson St., Scranton, with services by the Rev. John Conforti. Interment to follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
A visitation will be held Friday morning at the church from 10 until the time of services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Corey Brian Strauch Services, Scranton.
