Geneva Ivey, 80, of Scranton, died Tuesday at Scranton Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Charlie Charles Ivey, who died in 2005. The couple was married over 45 years.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Jossie Martin. She was a Central High School Graduate, then married and moved to Germany with Charlie. Upon her return to Scranton she worked as an elevator operator at the Hotel Casey. She retired from Alparn Inc as a sewing machine operator
Even though she had no children she still raised a lot of kids. She was like a mother to everyone and was a foster mother to Corey and Carina White. She was an avid bingo player, a member of the Autobahn Society and an all around bubbly person who befriended everyone.
She is survived by care givers/nieces Terri Carver, Toni Rae Martin Roberts; two sisters Ludy Mae Fisher and Bernice Smith Bradley and her husband William; and a host of nieces, nephews and family.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, 5:00 pm to 6:45pm, with a Memorial Service at 7pm in the Corey Brian Strauch Services, LLC, funeral home location, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505.
