Diane Ruth Lance, 76, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Saturday morning at Allied Hospice Center, Scranton. She is the beloved wife of Wayne James Lance Sr., Scranton. The couple was married 55 years.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Ruth Storr Sloss, she was a 1965 graduate of West Scranton High School. She worked in the admissions department of the former Community Medical Center, Scranton, until her retirement. She was a Mary Kay consultant for many years and loved helping other women feel beautiful. She was the coupon queen and helped schools fundraise.
She was an active member of Grace Bible Church, Dunmore, and involved in many areas at the church including youth activities, Bible studies and the missions committee. She was a prayer warrior who loved her Savior and shared that love with everyone she met.
Her grandkids were her world as well as her two sons and their wives. Her husband was the love of her life. “LadyDi” will be greatly missed.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Wayne Jr. and wife, Melissa, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Mark and wife, Kelly, Scranton; a sister, Shirley Nealon, Scranton; a brother, William Sloss and wife, Ruth, Snydersville; a sister-in-law, Lorriane Sloss, Palmerton; seven grandchildren, John, Jaden, Noah, Kayleigh, Addison, Micah and Stella; a niece, Kathy; and nephews, David, Billy and Bobby.
A celebration of life will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Grace Bible Church, 130 University Drive, Dunmore, PA 18512, with the Rev Michael Butash to officiate.
A visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Bible Church at the address above.
