Bruce Edward Wenzel, 77, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Tuesday at home. His wife is the former Carol Pantle Wenzel. The couple had been married for 47 years.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Edward and Doris Heidig Wenzel, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and attended the University of Scranton. He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. Bruce worked as a computer programmer with the Scranton Times-Tribune for many years and was a member of Schiller Lodge #345 Free and Accepted Masons. He and his wife spent the last 10 years splitting their time between Scranton and Florida.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Carlie Pisasale and husband, Peter, Rhode Island; a son, Christian Wenzel and wife, Suzanne, Florida; a brother, David Wenzel and wife, Janet, Scranton; and two granddaughters, Kara and Julia Pisasale, Rhode Island.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family and are under the directions of the Corey Brian Strauch Services LLC funeral home, 602 Birch St., Scranton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Allied Hospice, 511 Morgan Highway, Scranton, PA 18508.
