Alexander Drozdick Jr, 71, of Jefferson Township passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday August 13th, 2021. He is the husband of the late Carol Ann Drozdick, the couple was married for 49 years.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania he is the son of the late Alexander and Lucille Schreck Drozdick. Alex worked at Scranton Foods in earlier years. Prior to retirement, Alex worked for Specialty Records before the company changed hands to WEA and Cinram where he stayed employed for many years. After retirement Alex worked for Mclane before going into full retirement.
His life revolved around his wife Carol, they would go on frequent dates to the casino, and spend as much time as they could doing things that made them happy in their retirement. He always said, “I’m not retired, I work for my wife”. Alex loved his Saturday night fishing trips with his wife, son Jason and grandson Jason. He loved Sunday family dinners which led to a game night or family movie that always ended in a lot of laughter . He took frequent trips to the beach, Hershey Park, and Knoebels with his family. Alex took pride in his lawn maintenance and his garden, always outside working on a house project or working out in his gym. He valued the people that were very near and dear to his heart.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that will be deeply missed by all that had the honor to know him, he left this life too early and had so much more to give.
Surviving are his sons Jason Drozdick and wife Shelby, Alexander Drozdick III. Daughters Michelle Yanochick and Dawn Wisneski, two sisters and a brother.
He is preceded in death by granddaughter Megan Drozdick
His family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses of Geisinger Wyoming Valley ICU, Geisinger Post-Acute Medical facility, and Bayada Home Health for all their wonderful care and compassion over these last few weeks.
A memorial service will be held for both Alex and his late wife Carol on Saturday at 10:30am in the Corey Brian Strauch Funeral Home, 602 Birch Street, Scranton, PA 18505. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:15 in the funeral home.
